No. A lawyer can represent only one spouse in a divorce. If you and your spouse agree on most things, the firm can represent one of you and prepare documents for both to review.
How long does a Colorado divorce take?
Colorado Judicial Branch instructions describe a mandatory 91-day waiting period before a divorce can be granted. Agreed cases often finish soon after that; contested cases take longer.
Do I have to live in Colorado to file?
Colorado Judicial Branch instructions say one spouse must reside in Colorado for at least 91 days before filing.
Is Colorado a no-fault state?
Yes. The court does not decide who is to blame for the end of the marriage.
Is property split 50/50?
Colorado divides marital property equitably, which means fairly. That is often close to equal, but not always.
