Modifications after the decree
Jobs change, children grow, and parents move. When your orders no longer fit your life, they can often be changed, and the timing of your motion matters.

What can be modified
Parenting time, decision-making, child support and, in some cases, spousal maintenance can be modified when circumstances change substantially. Property division is generally final.
Relocation
A parent who wants to move a significant distance with the children usually needs either agreement or court approval first. Moving without it can seriously hurt your case.
Enforcement
When the other parent is not following the orders, missed support, withheld parenting time, the firm can ask the court to enforce them.
Common questions
Do I need a lawyer to modify child support?
Not always, but income disputes and parenting-time changes are where mistakes are costly. A free call will tell you whether your situation is simple.
Can I stop paying support if I lose my job?
No. Keep paying what you can and file a motion to modify promptly. Changes generally apply from the date the motion is filed.
