Temporary orders while your divorce is pending
A divorce can take months. Temporary orders set the ground rules in the meantime.

What they cover
While a case is pending, the court can enter temporary orders on issues such as a parenting schedule, child support, temporary maintenance, who stays in the home and who pays which bills.
Why they matter
Temporary arrangements often become the starting point for final ones. A schedule or budget that works for months can shape what both sides, and the court, see as reasonable.
Agreement or hearing
Many couples agree on temporary terms and submit them to the court. When they cannot agree, a hearing decides. Preparation matters: income documents, a proposed schedule and a realistic budget.
